David Kershenbaum, Grammy winning producer and A&R executive has taken delivery of two AWS 900 Analogue Work Station Systems.

David's career spans over 2 decades, and he is responsible for signing Bryan Adams to A&M, producing Duran Duran's 'Rio', and working with the likes of Cat Stevens, Tracy Chapman, Joe Jackson, and Janet Jackson plus other stars.

His newest venture, Rebel Yell, is an artist development programme, a studio, a label and handles every step of the process all the way through to distribution and promotion.

Rebel Yell Studios is set high in the Hollywood Hills, and is centred around two AWS 900's in tandem with a G5 Macintosh running a loaded Pro Tools®/HD Accel System.

David talks about his SSL purchases to GC Pro: "...when I heard about the AWS 900, I just said, "Wow! It’s possible to do this all in one place and not have to have all of that overhead and that burden." says David.

He then explains his thoughts of having 2 consoles: "...But, what if we had two? What if we could have all those outputs and not be burdened with mixing stems and so forth in Pro Tools? What if they could come out and come through the board and it could be just like being in a mix room?" says David. "That became a reality when we put these together and organized and developed a system that to me is world class. I can do anything here that I can do at any studio, and I never have to leave my own room. And I don’t have to worry about booking it; I don’t have to worry about staff. I can operate it myself or I can bring an engineer in. It gives me all the flexibility to do any of these projects without any of the burden of a studio."
