SSL Presents streamlined C100 system at NAB 2009

LAS VEGAS, NV — At NAB (Booth N4031), world-leading media technology innovator Solid State Logic (SSL) will demonstrate the latest generation of the market leading C100 Digital Broadcast Console. The console will be showcased with the new Blackrock processor system, accompanied by the new B-RIO modular I/O rack, MORSE Stage Box and MORSE Router.

“The development of the new technology in Blackrock and B-RIO enhances the robustness, flexibility and space efficiency of the C100,” says Dan Duffell, head of marketing for SSL. “The C100 HD-S Console is the operational interface for a completely scalable, expandable system that is custom configured to precisely match client requirement, and the introduction of Blackrock enhances our capability to deliver what our customers need now and over the coming years.”

The C100 HD-S is the latest generation of the industry proven C100 console range that is relied upon by broadcasters worldwide, 24/7 365 days a year in fixed and mobile installations. For operators, C100 is a reassuring combination of ergonomic simplicity and benchmark audio processing and signal path performance. For engineers, C100 provides simple scalability and expandability with robust, proprietary, virus proof systems, SNMP remote diagnostics and unrivalled service and support. For managers, C100 means systems delivered to tight budgets with low cost of ownership and performance quality to match HD market demands.

The Blackrock Processor Core is a new miniaturized version of the established Centuri Processing Core that reduces the size of the rack enclosure to a compact 2U and supports full processor core redundancy.

The new B-RIO is a modular ‘local’ I/O housed in a space efficient 7U enclosure.

The Blackrock and B-RIO combination are scaled and configured to exactly meet customer requirements making dedicated DSP power for processing and system configuration available to the operator at all times. The space and cost efficient Processor and I/O options enable engineers to specify systems which exactly meet technical and budgetary requirements.

The MORSE Stagebox provides fiber connected modular remote I/O. The MORSE Stage Box can either directly address Blackrock in simple installations or be used in conjunction with a MORSE Router in multi room environments where resource sharing is required.

The MORSE Router provides a Modular Resource Sharing Engine for all SSL C-Series Consoles.
