RANDBURG, SOUTH AFRICASound Corporation, South Africa’s go-to audio and visual hire company for over 30 years, has become the first rental firm in the country to purchase an SSL Live L500 Plus console. A full service provider of sound, lighting and staging equipment, Sound Corporation serves the concert and festival, corporate event, sporting, and trade show markets, among others.

The significance of being the first hire company to own an L500 console is a source of great pride for Sound Corporation. “Our decision to purchase the L500 was based on SSL’s long-standing reputation,” says Mark De Klerk, Sound Corporation. “Top musicians around the world record on SSL and now we have the opportunity to recreate that legendary studio sound for live performances. I love how user-friendly the L500 is — it is compact, and it has those familiar features you would find in an SSL studio console. Not only is the console intuitive, but the design makes it easy to navigate with the user interface and large screen, which is a timesaver when you’re working in a live environment.”

“We recognise Sound Corporation as one of South Africa's oldest and most respected rental companies,” says Paul Lindsay, Vice President of Sales for the region. “Mark's decision to be the first purchaser in the region of an SSL Live console is a true tribute to the faith he has put in the SSL brand and the benefits the console provides for live sound. We look forward to sharing more successes in the very near future as the L500 becomes a mainstay in South Africa’s touring environment.”

Projects for the new console include the upcoming Joy of Jazz International Jazz Festival featuring Marcus Miller, Larry Carlton, Peabo Bryson and Yellow Jackets with more in the planning phases.
