OXFORD, ENGLAND – Solid State Logic (SSL) the world’s leading manufacturer of analogue and digital audio consoles and provider of creative tools for film, audio, video and broadcast professionals, today announced the installation of C100 HD-S audio consoles in Abu Dhabi TV’s Studios 5 and 6 respectively.

The C100 HD-S is a slimline console and I/O specifically designed with the broadcasting industry in mind. C100 HD-S offers a scalable control surface of up to 512 audio channels and is particularly suitable for space conscious installations. Its software suite provides full, virus-proof functionality running on a proprietary processing engine.

Studio 5 is used exclusively for Production purposes with Studio 6 designated for News programmes. Each of the consoles has its own SSL Modular Resource Sharing Engine (MORSE). Although the two control rooms and associated studio floors are over 100m apart, the MORSE system enables Abu Dhabi TV to share arbitrated audio assets between the two systems, increasing the flexibility of the installation considerably.

Abu Dhabi TV is managed by Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC) and is a modern, progressive Pan Arab channel considered to be one of the top five generic channels in the Arab world. Abu Dhabi Media Company employs around 1500 people across its operating units which include publishing, television, radio, digital media, distribution, and printing.

Abdul Farid Kabani, Head of TV Engineering, ADMC, said, “Solid State Logic is the clear leader in broadcast audio technology and the powerful, feature-packed C100 HD-S belies its compact size and ergonomic elegance. We wanted our Studios to include the absolute cutting edge of broadcast technology and reliability. With SSL at the heart of its system, we get both in our broadcast audio control package.”

Solid State Logic Technical Manager, Paul Lindsay, said, “The Middle East is one of the world’s most challenging and progressive markets in terms of new technology, coupled with extremely high specifications. We are very pleased to have AMDC’s confidence in terms of reliability, sophistication and performance.”
