NEW YORK, NY - Solid State Logic, the world’s leading manufacturer of professional digital and analogue consoles and provider of creative tools for music, broadcast and post production professionals, will exhibit its largest console in 15 years — a 96 channel Duality — at the 123rd Audio Engineering Society Convention in New York City (booth #126).

Since its launch in October 2006, Duality, the large format analogue console with integrated workstation control, has enjoyed overwhelming success. With 40 consoles sold, Duality is the fastest selling new large format console in SSL history. The combination of the highest quality SuperAnalogue™ signal path & processing with integrated DAW control, analogue 5.1 surround panning on every channel, constant visual feedback via TFT displays and the convenience of multi operator Total Recall™ is proving to be an attractive formula. The console is extremely versatile and its ability to handle Music Production, Live Broadcast, and Post is proving to be a strong commercial proposition for facilities with a diverse workload.

Today, leading recording and educational facilities across the country are acquiring Duality consoles to capture the famous SSL analogue sound in combination with the innovation of digital technology. Recent acquisitions and installations of SSL Duality consoles within North America include Alicia Keys’ The Oven Studios in New York (Duality 48); Humber College in Toronto (Duality 48); Patchwerk Recording Studios in Atlanta, GA (Duality 48); McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN (two Duality 48 consoles); Art Institute of Nashville (Duality 48); and Middle Tennessee State University (Duality 48).

Duality has also been nominated for a Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Award in the Large Format Console Technology category. Presented annually by the Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio, the TEC Awards honor the individuals, companies and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings, films, TV shows and live performances.

New to Duality is a redundant Power Supply option for broadcast applications, which provides complete redundancy for all power rails by providing two complete sets of the standard Duality power supply modules, each with its own mains connection. The DC outputs are connected via high current diodes so that failure of one unit can not load the outputs of the other power supply. Like the standard power supply system all units are mounted in the rear of the console, greatly simplifying installation.
