This is attained through a combination of beautifully organized dedicated and assignable hardware controls, and an intuitive central touchscreen:
- Dedicated hardware controls provide constant access to essential ‘on-line’ functions, allowing experienced operators to develop the level of muscle-memory that is required for efficient audio operation, and enabling less experienced operators to build confidence.
- Extensive user-assignable softkeys prevent infrequently accessed functions from crowding the workspace and allow the console to be perfectly adapted to the specific requirements of any project.
- The interface enables settings and projects to be recalled quickly, and keeps all of the powerful signal processing, routing and configuration tools elegantly folded out of the way, while ensuring that all processes can still be monitored closely. When requirements do change suddenly, the touchscreen enables you to drill down into the detail of your mix environment extremely quickly for immediate adjustments.
The concept of combining dedicated and assignable controls extends to control surface channel assignments: Multiple layers of channels can be quickly selected in either conventional banks of contiguous signals, or user-defined layouts which can be easily re-arranged, even while on air. This offers the user both a stable layout that enables every signal to be quickly located, and a more versatile layout which ensures that essential signals are kept close, and which enables signal-heavy sessions to be handled smoothly, even on more compact console sizes.
